What to Know About Osaka Stations
Shin-Osaka station is a separate transportation hub constructed specially for Shinkansen trains to prevent the engineering hardships of laying new railway routes directly through the city center (although it serves some regional lines as well). Shin-Osaka is located just 3 kilometers (1,8 mi) from Osaka Central station, which takes around 3 minutes to cover by a train running the JR Tokaido-Sanyo line.
